Puberruil wint 'Europese Media Prijs'

Het Visible TV-programma Puberruil (KRO) heeft donderdagavond in Berlijn de Europese Media Prijs voor integratie en culturele diversiteit, CIVIS 2007, gekregen. De prijs werd uitgereikt door de voorzitter van het Europees Parlement Hans-Gert Pöttering.

Puberruil kreeg de prijs vanwege de bijdrage die dit televisieprogramma levert aan het vreedzaam naast elkaar bestaan van verschillende nationaliteiten binnen de Europese samenleving.

De Europese CIVIS televisie-jury heeft de aflevering van Puberruil tot winnaar uitgeroepen waarin de Gothic puber Nico vijf dagen van leven ruilt met de van origine Ghanese rapper Akwasi (uitgezonden op 12 mei 2006).

CIVIS about ‘Teen Scene’:
The Swap of Nico and Akwasi in the episode of ‘Teen Scene’ highlights many contradictions and offers many new insights. ‘Teen Scene’ is a convincing, amusing and educational expedition into the world of the Other.

Jury Grounds:
In the episode entitled ‘Akwasi and Nico’, Hans Mors and Gert Berg bring two extremely different teenagers in a situation that is unusual for both of them: in the world of respective other one. The Dutch youth series ‘Teen Scene’ sharpens the eye for the Other through the switching of roles. Free of clichés and without any prejudice, the youth programme opens the vision for alternative ways of live – entertaining and informative. An outstanding work on the theme of integration – both formally and in terms of content.

Voor de Europese Media Prijs werden meer dan 600 Europese tv-programma's ingezonden.
